The incoming finance minister, Mr Ken Ofori-Attah, will use his own Toyota Camry vehicle as his official car when he takes office after a successful parliamentary vetting.
It comes as government officials say that the economy is bleeding.
According to Gabby Otchere-Darko, a top ranking member of the New Patriotic Party and cousin of President Nana Akufo-Addo, the minister's Camry has already been acquired.
If Gabby's Facebook post is any thing to go by, it means Ofori-Atta will not accept a luxurious government-issued Toyota Land Cruiser vehicle as part of his personal efforts to help government save costs.
Akufo-Addo announced on Tuesday that Ofori-Attah would head the finance ministry.
Ofori-Attah is also a member of the president's economic management team
The 57-year-old now has to scale the hurdle of parliament before he is confirmed in his new job.
