Finance Minister Ofori-Atta to use own Toyota Camry instead of government-issued Land Cruiser

The incoming finance minister, Mr Ken Ofori-Attah, will use his own Toyota Camry vehicle as his official car when he takes office after a successful parliamentary vetting.

It comes as government officials say that the economy is bleeding.

According to Gabby Otchere-Darko, a top ranking member of the New Patriotic Party and cousin of President Nana Akufo-Addo, the minister's Camry has already been acquired.

If Gabby's Facebook post is any thing to go by, it means Ofori-Atta will not accept a luxurious government-issued Toyota Land Cruiser vehicle as part of his personal efforts to help government save costs.

Akufo-Addo announced on Tuesday that Ofori-Attah would head the finance ministry.

Ofori-Attah is also a member of the president's economic management team

The 57-year-old now has to scale the hurdle of parliament before he is confirmed in his new job.
