Some supporters of the newly elected New Patriotic Party (NPP) have gone on rampage, attacking toll boot attendants in the Central Region.

Toll boot attendants at the Moree junction in the Abura-Aseibu Kwamankese district are reported to have fallen victim to some NPP supporters who made away with cash amounting to several thousands of cedis.
Eye witnesses say the angry NPP youths forcibly wanted to take over the management of the toll boot facility.
Some supervisors of the facility also lamented the loss revenue due to the chaos, as car drivers took advantage of the situation to secure passed through the gates without paying tolls.

The perpetrators tried to justify their actions, saying same treatment was meted out to them by members of the now opposition party National Democratic Congress (NDC) in 2009.

This episode marks then second time that a toll boot takeover has been attempted in the Central Region after some youths in Assin Praso also attempted a similar thing.
