Dr. Anthony Akoto Osei, the new Monitoring and Evaluation minister designate, has stated that he intends to seek further clarification from the appointing authority on his newly formed portfolio.

According to the newly nominated Minister designate, his past experience as a Ranking member of Finance leaves him well placed to successfully fulfill his new role. He further said that his role in the Finance Ministry gave him the opportunity to learn a lot about several other ministries, something else that will benefit his new position.
He was unsure, on the other hand, if he would be working out of the Presidency, or if his ministry would be working out of its own offices. Dr. Akoto Osei said that he would be going to seek further clarification during his interview with Joy news.
"I am going tomorrow to seek clarification," confessed Dr. Akoto Osei.

Dr. Akoto Osei was quite certain of his role, nevertheless, should parliament approve - or vet - his ministerial appointment.
"Cabinet will set some targets and we will all need to make sure the targets are achieved within timelines... If they are not working, I will find out why they are not working and find the solutions to the challenges."
Dr. Akoto Osei went on to express his confidence in President Akufo-Addo's decision making.
"The appointing authority believes that this is the way to go and I have no qualms about that."
Dr. Akoto has previously served as Deputy Finance Minister, and Minister of State in Charge of Finance under former President Kufuor's government. These positions made him ideal for a new position in the Finance Ministry, something many expected.
