Vice President of Ghana, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has been praised by a group of New Patriotic Party (NPP) Zongo supporters for his contribution towards the party’s victory in the 2016 elections.
Dr Bawumia was very instrumental during the campaigns of the NPP, and his outputs have now been acknowledged by a group called Victorious Zongo Elephants.
The NPP, led by its flagbearer, Nana Akufo-Addo, recorded a landslide victory over the National Democratic Congress (NDC)’s John Mahma in the 2016 polls.

Akufo-Addo and Dr Bawumia were sworn-in as president and vice-president respectively in a colourful ceremony last Saturday at the Black Stars square.
Dr Bawumia was visited by a 20-member delegation form five branches of the Victorious Zongo Elephants at his residence.
According to chairman of the group, Ibrahim Tahir, Dr Bawumia had fruitful discussions with them.
Tahir added, in an interview with Daily Guide, that members of the group worked as agents for the NPP during the elections.
The group, which was formed in January last year thanked the vice-president for his efforts in helping the NPP emerge victorious.
