Black Stars skipper, Asamoah Gyan has said that it’s possible for Ghana to win the 2017 AFCON tournament if his colleagues are ready to put in their best efforts.

Gyan disclosed that Ghana could lift the trophy after a 35 year drought if the team showed keen interest in winning.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with TV3, Asamoah Gyan, made the team’s zeal to win the tournament known.
“Everything is possible in football. We can win the AFCON. I use Cote d’Ivoire as an example. They lost in 2006 and 2012 on penalties but they won it in 2015 against us. We can also win but it will depend on the team. We have the quality but I believe that our attitude on the field can determine whether or not we will go far.”

According to him, their victory will depend on how injury-free they are and the right players picked by the coach.
“It is very easy to talk about winning the trophy but we need to show the world that we want to really win it. I pray that we will be injury-free because we need all the help we can get from the players on the pitch and those on the bench. Everybody must get involved if we will the trophy” he explained.
The Black Stars have pitched camped in Dubai, United Arab Emirates since 2nd January 2017 and played against Bunyodkor in a friendly match on Tuesday.
The Stars won the match by 2 goals to nil with Gyan coming off the bench in the 67th minute of the game to score and another goal by Frank Acheampong 15 minutes later.
The Stars finished as runners up at the 2015 and have been drawn in a tough Group D along with Egypt, Uganda and Mali in the January 14 – February 5 tournament.
