The opposition National Democratic Congress has gone full war mode against the New Patriotic Party (NPP) barely five days after Nana Akufo-Addo was sworn in as president.
At a fiery press conference in Accra on Thursday, which was led by the party's national chairman, Kofi Portuphy, and general secretary, Asiedu Nketia, the NDC accused the government of sitting idly by while NPP members brutalised NDC members across the country.
Wearing red bands on their heads and arms, NDC executives also condemned the conduct of some NPP youth who have locked up the offices of some state institutions in the country.
The NDC warmed that if the government did not rein in its supporters, the party's members would be forced to defend themselves.
