A video showing Jerry Rawlings undertaking community farming with some Ghanaians in the 1980s is trending on social media.
The video shows Rawlings and some volunteers tilling the ground and planting maize as part of apparent effort to boost Ghana's food sufficiency.
Rawlings was then head of state under the Provisional National Defence Council, having overthrown President Hilla Liman in a coup.
In the video, Rawlings could be heard saying, "You better shut up when I'm speaking to you" before proceeding to issue instructions as to how the planting should be done.
