Koku Anyidoho, Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has taken a pot shot at President Akufo Addo's Director of Communication, Eugene Arhin.
According to the NDC Deputy General Secretary, Mr. Eugene Arhin has been 'practically emasculated' by the appointment of Mustapha Hamid to the post of Information Minister and Presidential spokesperson.
Mr. Anyidoho expressed that in his opinion, it is the Minister of Information who will be charged with communicating messages to the general public while, at the same time, making sure that all arms of government and state agencies are on the same page.
According to Mr. Anydoho, Mr. Eugene Arhin's duties as Director of Communications and Mr. Mustapha Hamid's duties the Minister of Information and Presidential Spokesperson would have the two roles overlap.

This, said the NDC Deputy General Secretary, was a situation that could potentially create confusion in the dissemination of state information.
“I was Director of Communications at the Presidency when Professor Mills was the president and so I appreciate the kind of work they will be doing. The task at hand is a difficult one and I pray for them, especially Eugene Arhin, who I consider as my younger brother.
“The appointment of Mustapha Hamid as Minister of Information has muted Eugene Arhin as the Director of Communications at the presidency. He has no mandate going forward. Mustapha [Hamid] as Information Minister will be coordinating with the agencies and departments, will be attending conference on behalf of the government,” he said.
