Reports by the al-Hajj newspaper has alleged that President Akufo-Addo is having sleepless nights following the various promises he made to Ghanaians during the election campaign.
The NPP administration, the newspaper alleges, is also worried over its relationship with the International Monetary Fund, Millennium Challenge Agency and the People’s Republic of China after threatening to review agreements entered into by the erstwhile Mahama government.
President Akufo Addo, the source further explained, “knows it will be very difficult if not near impossible to fulfill most of the promises he made during the campaign and giving how Ghanaians bought into these promises to vote for us, he has been ‘thinking’ of either fulfilling them or be frank with Ghanaians… telling them the bitter truth.”
Managing Editor of the The aL-hAJJ newspaper, Alhaji Bature Iddrisu alleged on UTV that even though President Akufo-Addo has been happy he won the epic election, he is “mourning inside”.
The allegation levelled by the newspaper follows reports by former finance minister, Seth Terkper that most economic promises by the NPP administration could cause Ghana's economy to crash into a recession - an argument the senior minister designate, Yaw Osarfo Marfo describes as untrue.
Be it all as it may, the NPP administration says it's committed to ensuring that Ghana's economy is not just stimulated for growth, but also respected as one of the fastest growing in Africa.
