New teachers transferred to the Soda D/A Junior High School in the Affram Plains South District of the Eastern region are living in a state of terror following a scare of Black Magic at their new post.
These new teachers were welcomed on Friday with supposed black magic at the entrance leading to the Staff Common Room, when they reached their transfer post following the termination of appointments of 15 teachers over alleged indiscipline.
An inscription indicating that five of them will die soon if they do not reject the posting, along with broken eggs and other items depicting ‘juju’ or black magic greeted the new teachers close to their office entrance.
The 15 teachers were dismissed after protesting against the appointment of a new headmaster for the School, claiming some of them are better qualified to head the school than the new headmaster who “has little knowledge in managing a school”.
This mass transfer of teachers in the School was met with strong opposition from the teachers, community and the Parents Teachers Association.
According to a report by Starr News, several attempts by the stakeholders of the School and the District Director to thwart the transfer failed.
A final meeting with the community to put rest to the impasse is reportedly scheduled on Monday at the Chief’s Palace.
