The final burial rites for the late queen mother of the Ashanti Kingdom were conducted in the past week, which saw many dignitaries and national stakeholders attend the gathering in Kumasi.
The rites began on Monday, January 16 and ended at midnight on Thursday, January 19 when the queen was finally laid to rest at the Breman Mausoleum.
Many important national figures were present at the funeral to pay their respects to the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II and among them were former presidents Rawlings and Mahama.
In the video below, we can see former President Mahama quietly walking to extend his condolences to the Asantehene, without fuss or noise. However, the second J.J Rawlings started towards the Asantehene, it was all cheers and loud shouts of "Papa J!"
Still hold to the truth, that no matter where former President Rawlings goes, loud cheers and support from the crowd will always follow.
