A family in Kirinyaga County is furious after three teachers allegedly assaulted their child.
Alvin Wahome Mwangi from Kibirigwi in Ndia claim their child, an 11-year-old pupil from Kibirigwi Primary School, was caned by three teachers for making noise in class and now has injuries on his body.
According to his mother, Elizabeth Muthoni, his son cannot even walk or sit down because of the canning from the teachers.
She recorded a statement at Baricho Police Station where she even submitted photos showing the extent of the injuries and now wants the Ministry of Education to intervene and ensure justice is delivered.
The pupil stays with his grandmother since the parents work far from home.
The family wants the Education Cabinet Secretary, Dr Fred Matiang’i, to intervene as they believe it is unjust to punish a student in such a manner.
