The Director General Of the Ghana Ports and Harbor Authority, Mr. Richard A. Y. Anamoo, has been removed from office.
According to popular reports, the directive that has Mr. Anamoo leaving his position came right down from President Nana Akufo-Addo's office.
The reason why the GPHA boss has been sacked is yet to be revealed, although some speculations have it that the barrage of accusations from the GPHA's Junior Staff Union may have played a part in his dismissal.

Recently, disgruntled employees at both the Tema and Takoradi ports demanded the removal of Mr. Anamoo due to what they referred to as his gross abuse of power and financial misconduct. The workers further demanded that an investigation be opened into the dismissed GPHA boss's activities while he was in office.
"We are asking government to set up a committee to investigate and probe into all the port expansion projects at Tema and Takoradi, and also find the owners behind the companies executing the local content aspects of the expansion projects," the Union demanded.
