The Sports Ministry have announced that it has agreed a 50% slash in their bonuses after a meeting with with the Black Stars and its management.
According a Pulse.com.gh publication the new arrangement was announced by the Sports Minister-designate, Isaac Asiamah at a press conference in Gabon.
“We are going to have a stakeholders meeting to discuss payments for all national teams but in the interim we have held a meeting with the players of the national team and they have agreed to a 50% slash in their bonuses.”
“They have understood the situation we are in and also understand that the fans and the general public have spoken. The players understand this.”
Following this announcement the Black Stars will now earn $5000 per win at the tournament.
Meanwhile, Mr Asiamah also hinted that government will announce a special package for the team if they win the AFCON.
