‘Come home, let’s build Ghana together’ - Foreign Minister-designate appeals to Ghanaians abroad

Ghanaians leaving abroad have been urged to come back if they do not have proper documentations to stay outside.

According to Foreign Affairs Minister-designate, Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, Ghanaians outside the country should consider returning home to help build the country.

Taking her turn before Parliament's Appointments Committee Monday, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Anyaa Sowutuom urged Ghanaians to stay and make their living in the country.

Responding to a question about how the nation could protect undocumented Ghanaians, the Foreign Affairs Minister-designate said the best way out would be for the citizens to return home.

“Things are not bad in Ghana.”

She also opined that individual countries have their own immigration laws and foreign nationals found to be without documents would face deportation.
