The President Nana Akufo-Addo led government has appointed Dr. Kofi Kodua Sarpong as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC).

Dr. Kofi Kodua Sarpong, an accountant by profession, will be replacing Mr. Alexander Kofi-Mensah Mould who was the previous CEO of the national petroleum body since 2013.
The Dr. Sarpong was previously the CEO of the Tema Oil Refinery (TOR), and he was also appointed Chairman of the Asante Kotoko football club by the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu in 2010 where he stayed for three years only to retire in 2013.

He was also Chairman of a consortium of Chatered Accountants, Lawyers and Investment Experts called Finatech. He was also Head of Administration and Financial Services Division of the International Cocoa Organization from 1999 to 2003.
Dr. Sarpong has also served in advisory positions in different organizations including serving on the boards of reputable Ghanaian banks including Ghana Commercial Bank and Merchant Bank from 1996 to 2010.
