Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko, a cousin of President Nana Akufo-Addo and a top ranking member of the New Patriotic Party, has advised the government to organise a modest Ghana @ 60 celebration.
Gabby's comments follow outrage in a section of the public over a 30-member committee instituted by the president to organise the event.
While some Ghanaians are of the view that the size of the committee is an indication that the government plans to spend heavily on the event, others are of the view that the event should not be organised at all.
But weighing in on the development on Facebook, Gabby said the celebration should not lead to wastage of public money.

"For me, it is about national consciousness. About our values, integrity, patriotism and how to unleash our creative energies. i.e time to reflect and realign. No wastage please," he said.
Akufo-Addo has already assured Ghanaians that public money will not be wasted on the event.
