The Chief Executive Officer of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA) has been asked to vacate his position with immediate effect.

The order was given by the President, Nana Akufo-Addo and a new caretaker CEO, Mr Hassan Tampuli has since taken over.
In a letter sighted by Yen.com.gh on 26th January 2017 and signed by Minister of Energy-designate Boakye Agyarko.
The new C.E.O will not make decisions that will have implications on government policies until a substantive board was inaugurated.

“As a caretaker CEO, you will not take decisions that have policy implications until a substantive Governing Board is in place. The letter said, “You may refer such policy related decisions to the Ministry for prior approval”.
Mr Asaga was in charge of the NPA since November 2013.
The new C.E.O, Mr Tampuli studied Energy and Environmental Law at the Ohio State University Moritz College of Law.
