I am not contesting for president in 2020- Kwabena Duffuor

The former finance minister Dr Kwabena Duffuor has debunked rumors suggesting that he is looking to run for the presidency come 2020.

In a statement released to media outlets, he said he has, "no intention, whatsoever, to contest for any elective public office", therefore all claims/posters that indicate otherwise are false.

A former governor of the Bank of Ghana, he emphasized his position on the matter, stating, "I have served my country in various capacities and consider myself a statesman who is retired from active politics."

Below is his full statement:

My attention has been drawn to various publications on some media outlets and social media suggesting that I intend to contest for President in 2020.

For the avoidance of any doubt, I wish to put on record that I have no intention, whatsoever, to contest for any elective public office.

I have served my country in various capacities and consider myself a statesman who is retired from active politics.
