Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong has called for an independent investigation into the bribery allegations involving some members on the Appointments Committee.
According to the firebrand MP, parliamentarians are no “tin gods” and must be put to full scrutiny and public check like any other Ghanaian.
Speaking to Joy News, the New Patriotic party (NPP) MP said the integrity and dignity of the House is in question and for Ghanaians to believe the outcome, it will be better to get an independent body that will investigate this matter.
Mr Agyapong also denied that MPs take monies before they pass appointees from the executive.
The allegations of bribery levelled against the Energy Minister, Boakye Agyarko, by a Minority member of the Appointments Committee, Mahama Ayariga has brought the House into disrepute.
