Kennedy Agyapong, Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin Central Constituency, has repelled allegations that he offered bribes to MP's on Parliament's Appointment Committee to influence their decisions to approve the nomination of Energy Minister, Boakye Agyarko.
The allegations against Hon. Agyapong are that he apparently offered bribes to Appointments CoOmmittee members inside his Rolls Royce.
The maverick Assin Central Constituency legislator wondered why Energy Minister, Boakye Agyarko, is being singled out of all the nominees who have undergone vetting and described the bribery scandal surrounding the recently sworn in Energy Minister as baseless.
Hon. Agyapong went ahead and challenged Hon. Okudzeto Ablakwa and Hon. Mahama Ayariga to provide proof of his alleged attempt to bribe them. He also cautioned members of the media and advised them not to rely solely on social media for information.

"My name seems to pop up in every issue in this country, I don’t understand why people want to drag my name into this bribery brouhaha. I am not a member of the Appointments Committee, what interest do I have in this to give out bribe.
"Anyone with information claiming that I have offered bribe inside my Rolls Royce car should come out with that information. If Okudzeto, Ayariga and Suhunyini have evidence that they should come out, they should name and shame. The problem I have with the media is you always rely on social media for information, you will always get it wrong if you go that way," he fumed.
Hon. Agyapong went ahead to say that he made a decision to remain quiet over the bribery scandal because he didn't want to release "sensitive information".
