A man has brutally murdered his wife for alleged alcoholism at Bimbilla in the Northern Region.
The man, David Musah Tia, reportedly hit his wife, Janet Coffie, with a stick during a fight in which he confronted her over her constant recourse to alcohol, according to a report by Accra-based Adom FM.
Police say Tia gave Jane money to set up a drinking spot, but realised that his wife was always getting drunk.
They say on the day of the attack, Tia returned home and met the wife drunk as usual.
He is said to have complained only for his wife to hit him with a stick.
Tia is said to have reacted angrily by hitting her head with the stick.
His wife is said to have been rushed to the Bimbilla Government Hospital but was declared dead on arrival
Tia is currently in police custody awaiting prosecution.
