Samson Ahi, a member of the Appointments Committee, Bodi Constituency MP has said that the Minority has rejected Otiko Djaba's recommendation to the plenary Committee as minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection.
Speaking on Kasapa FM on Wednesday, Mr Ahi said, "There is a general consensus for us in the Minority not to support Otiko because of her posturing before the committee and her response to some questions that were asked her during vetting yesterday. Off-course her approval will be by the majority when it comes to the floor for consideration."
Otiko Djaba appeared before the vetting committee on Tuesday, and made headlines after for her refusal to offer an apology to former President Mahama regarding certain harsh comments she made about him during the 2016 election period.
It is believed her lack of remorse for her comments, in addition to her supposed 'defiant' posture may have dimmed her chances before the vetting the committee.
The MP however, indicated that the reasons for the Minority's disapproval will be communicated to the public.
