Although the case started under Madam Appiah-Oppong's tenure as A-G, the new government of Nana Akufo-Addo has indicated that she and her team will be allowed to continue defending the country with support from Madam Akufo.

The hearing of the maritime boundary dispute between Ghana and Côte d'Ivoire in the Atlantic Ocean commenced at the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea (ITLOS) on February 6, and will end on February 16.
