President Nana Akufo-Addo's designate Minister for Special Affairs, has publicly apologized to H.E. John Dramani Mahama for certain choice words she said about him during the run-up to last year's hotly contest general elections.
Madam Hawa Koomson, Member of Parliament (MP) for Senya East Constituency, is on record to have called former President John Dramani Mahama a serial liar, and that he was "competing with the devil for the crown emperor of lies and deceit”.
Speaking on local radio Pink FM, the Senya East legislator also likened the erstwhile Ghanaian President to a mad man around the time the sod cutting ceremony of the Kasoa Western by-pass road network took place.

However, during Tuesday's vetting session with Parliament's Appointments Committee, she told MP's of the committee that she regretted using the words because - according to her - it was "political talk", and proceeded to apologize and retract her comments.
“Yes, I do regret using those words because it's a political talk and I am sorry for that... I retract and apologize for using those words".
The designate Minister for the President’s Special Development Initiatives went on to say that in future she would not repeat the same mistake.
