Police in Axim in the Nzema East Municipality of the Western Region have arrested four fishermen for allegedly killing their colleague fisherman at sea.
The body of 28-year-old Robert Ebo Quansah was found Tuesday at Agyeisah in Bonwre, after he failed to return home following a fishing expedition with five other fishermen, a report by adomfmonline said on Wednesday.
The chief fisherman of Axim, Nana Kofi Bentil, said that the five fishermen who returned home claimed that Quansah drowned at sea.
A fifth suspect fled as soon as he heard that his colleagues had been arrested, the report said.
The family members of the deceased have called on the police to investigate the matter as a matter of priority, saying that they did not believe that Quansah had died until they saw his body.
