Maurice Ampaw, a Ghanaian celebrity lawyer, has claimed that he secretly intervened spiritually to help President Nana Akufo-Addo win the 2016 presidential elections.
Ampaw told Abusua FM that the spiritual efforts he made were specifically aimed at undermining the president at the time, John Mahama.
He said he embarked on a hunger strike after the former president released the Montie 3 from jail and prayed that God would punish him for the decision.
“During my hunger strike, I told God to punish Mahama politically for disrespecting Ghanaians.
“It got to a point where arrogance of power and abuse of incumbency became too rampant and we needed spiritual intervention to curtail that,” he said.
Ampaw said that his hunger strike and prayers contributed significantly to Akufo-Addo's victory.
