A 77-year-old man in Cape Town, South Africa, has been battling several cancer illnesses over the past few years and has been confined to hospitals. However, he has now fulfilled a wish he has held dear for some time—he has married the love of his life.
Frederick King married 64-year-old Rachel van Loggenberg in a simple ceremony held at the Netcare hospital in Cape Town.
King says he met Rachel about 22 years ago and they have been close friends ever since. However, they became even closer when their respective partners passed away.
Staff at the hospital worked hard to ensure the couple's touching marriage ceremony, albeit simple, was a memorable one.
The ceremony was emotional for some nurses, who ended up shedding a few tears as the two elderly lovebirds exchanged vows of commitment.
