The youth group of the National Democratic Congress have requested for permission from the Accra Regional Police Command to stage a huge walk on February 24.
According to a report by 3news.com, the youth in a letter sent to the police command would organize the walk along the major streets of Accra to draw the attention of the general public, as well as the international community to, "the culture of intimidation, fear-mongering and general harassment, dismissals and seizure of private properties of NDC officials and members."
According to the National Youth Organiser Sidii Abubakar Musah who penned the letter, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) since coming into power has allowed lawless behavior to thrive in parts of the country.
There have been numerous reports of NPP supporters taking over state agencies while some properties of past government officials have also been reportedly seized.
It should be recalled that on February 1, 2017 five vehicles belonging to Kofi Adams, the National Organiser of the NDC, were seized from his residence.
According to Mr Musah, the walk is expected to be a peaceful march through the streets of Accra.
