A 12-year-old Ghanaian girl, Lily Tubga, will represent Africa in the World Spelling Bee competition.

Having beaten 190 other competitors to emerge spelling Bee champion of Ghana, Lily Tubga will now go on to represent the continent on the world stage.
She was elated with her achievements so far and said: “It’s a really great honor. I plan on doing everything possible to make Ghana proud.”

The 12 years old is a student of Solidarity International School, Ashaiman.
The Scripps National Spelling Bee competition will be held in the United States of America, where Lily will be competing with others across the globe.
