Gloria Akuffo, the attorney-general, bought two state cars at a cost of 2,200 cedis, according to a letter sighted by YEN.
Madam Akuffo served as deputy attorney-general from 2001 to 2005 and deputy Greater Accra Regional minister between 2005 and 2006.
She was also the minister for aviation in 2008 under the erstwhile Kufuor administration.
As part of her entitlements as a former political appointee, she requested to purchase two cars that she used during her time as minister when the New Patriotic Party (NPP) left power in 2009.
In a letter, dated March 25, 2010, and signed on behalf of the then Chief of Staff, Henry Martey Newman, the government approved the purchase of the two saloon cars which was valued at 2,200 cedis by the InterCity STC Coaches Limited.
Madam Akuffo was directed her to pay the said amount into a designated account.
YEN understands that she duly complied with the directive and took possession of the two cars.
