The much awaited 5 cedi notes are expected to be floated in the Ghanaian market come Tuesday, March 7th.

But trust social media to get a hand on the image before it even enters circulation.
An image of the said money has gone viral. It bears strikingly similar features as the old 5 cedis note with some minor but clear changes.
The note depicts the image of Ghanaian missionary and educationist, James Emman Kwegyir Aggrey credited for being one of the apostles of education in the then Gold Coast.
This new note is expected to see key security features with new portraits at the front and back with additional features that are sensitive to aid the visually impaired.
Some Ghanaians are however, not impressed with the introduction of the new bill.
