President Nana Akufo-Addo has nominated 10 deputy regional ministers and has forwarded their names to parliament for vetting.
Elizabeth Sackey has been appointed the deputy regional minister of the Greater Accra Region and will assist the regional minister, Ishmael Ashitey, the regional minister.
Elizabeth Agyemang has also been nominated as deputy regional minister for the Ashanti Region.
She will assist Simon Osei-Mensah, the Ashanti Regional minister.
The other nominees are:
Solomon Boar - Northern Region
Amidu Issahaku - Upper West Region
Adongo Fusieni - Upper East Region
Evans Opoku - Brong Ahafo Region
Joseph Tetteh - Eastern Region
Eugenia Gifty Kusi - Western Region
Thomas Agyei Baffour - Central Region
Maxwell Blagogee -Volta Region
The appointments committee of parliament is expected to vet them and confirm their nomination.
Of the 10 nominees, three are women, a development that will be deemed positive by gender activists.
Akufo-Addo was criticised formnot naming a woman to any of the 10 regional ministerial appointments he made.
