- Two brave teenagers saved a woman’s life
- She had fallen into a well in an Indian village
- The 65-year old lady did not have the strength to stay afloat while help came
- But the boys secured her
A couple of courageous teenage boys saved the life of an elderly woman who had fallen into a 20 meter-deep well. Due her frailty, she was unable to stay afloat while help came to take her out.
When Sher Singh and Rakesh Nath, from India, saw the dire situation in which 65-year old Aparajita Devi was in, they did not doubt one second to jump in themselves, and help her stay above water, until a rescue team arrived.
Sher decided to jump in after hearing Devi’s cries for help, and then Rakesh went right after him. It turned out that their presence alongside the woman definitely saved her life, because it was only after one and a half hours that a cot with a rope could be lowered.
The elderly lady would have not have had the strength to float for such a long time.
Singh and Nath loaded Devi onto the cot, which the villagers raised with their own legs. “I am glad that I have been able to save a life. It feels great,” Sher commented with pride at his brave action.
