Former presidents, John Mahama and Jerry Rawlings, are receiving praise on social media for the wearing the official Ghana @ 60 attire to the Independence Day parade held at the Black Stars Square in Accra.
Several dignitaries, including President Nana Akufo-Addo and Vice-President Mahamudu Bawumia, failed to wear the attire, but Mahama and Rawlings stunned in them.
Social media users complimented Mahama on the dress, saying that it fitted him perfectly.
Apart from match past by the various units of the security services and schools in Accra, the 60th Independence Day parade also witnessed a rich display of Ghanaian culture.
Delivering his speech, President Akufo-Addo called on Ghanaians to be hard working in order to life millions of Ghanaians out of poverty.
"The challenge before us is to build our economy and generate a prosperous, progressive and dignified life for the mass of our people. Hard work, enterprise, creativity and a consistent fight against corruption in public life would bring the transformation we seek," he said.
