National Democratic Congress (NDC) Deputy National Organizer, Mr. Joshua Amidu Akamba, has severely criticized the Daily Guide Newspaper on account of an article the newspaper covered on Friday, March 10th, suggesting that former president Mahama has decided to contest the 2020 elections.
Following the NDC's defeat at last December's general elections there's been a lot of curiosity as to who will be the opposition NDC party's flag-bearer for the 2020 general campaign and elections. This has given way to rampant rumor, with certain people alleging a John Mahama comeback to politics. The most recent of which, according to Mr. Joshua Amidu Akamba, being the Daily Guide Newspaper.
Former president Mahama and his family, for their part, have reportedly made several comments since last December hinting that he would not be campaigning for reelection in four year's time.

Speaking to the host of Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm, the NDC deputy national organizer said that the newspaper lacked stories to publish, and that it was only diverting attention from the current administration's errors.
"The paper has no stories to publish and so it is capitalizing on nothing; to divert attention from the abysmal performance of the current president."
''the NDC is an organized party. We have lost an election and our focus now is to reorganize the party. We are trying our best to organize our branch, constituency, regional and national elections and so I am wondering where this false story is coming from.
"The focus of President Mahama is to help reorganize the party. He has not decided to contest yet. The Daily Guide is short of stories and so they want to capitalize on the former president to make a story."
