Kwame Fosuhene, the man who won a GH₵990,650 (£173,000) bet from sports betting company, Betway, has revealed that an ex-girlfriend who jilted him called.when she heard that he had won the money.
Speaking after he was presented with a dummy cheque for the amount at the headquarters of Betway Ghana in Accra, Fosuhene said the ex-girlfriend called to ask whether news of him winning the amount was not "fake news".
"My ex-girlfriend left me after she won an American Visa Lottery to New Jersey in the USA. [When she heard I had won] she called me and said she is seeing some fake news, and I said, 'thank God it's fake news'; wait and see. I will be in the USA for two weeks and you will see whether its fake news or not'," he said.
Fosuhene also revealed that he his huge win would not stop him from continuing to bet.
"I even have a bet on my phone right now as I'm talking. I'm not stopping.
"[The money] is enough, but money is to make (more) money. There are a whole lot of responsibilities ahead of me. I have aims too. I have a target, so it's still on. Even when I win more, it's still Betway," he said.
