Government set up forfeited vehicles disposal team

The office of the chief of staff has set up a forfeited vehicles disposal team to see to the fair and proper disposal of confiscated vehicles at the country's ports.

The auctioning of confiscated vehicles at the country’s ports have usually been abused by authorities in power and close to the corridors of power.

But according to a document intercepted by Joy News, the newly formed team is tasked to sanitise the system and the process involved in the disposal of confiscated vehicles at the ports.

The letter names Kojo Agyeman-Prempeh as chairman of the new forfeited vehicles disposal team under the Akufo-Addo led government.

He is expected to work under the supervision of the chief of staff, the letter indicated.

"Your tenure as chairman of this team will be subject to your performance and integrity as determined by the office of the Chief of Staff," the letter added.

Many cars have been confiscated at the country's ports for different reasons including, duties.
