Recent report by the national center for cell science in India reveals that your cell phone has more germs than a toilet seat.
Scientists behind this research say that after collecting samples of 27 mobile phone screens, they did find over 500 different bacterial types and 28 fungi.
“It’s one of the cleanest things you’ll run across in terms of micro-organisms. It’s our gold standard – there are not many things cleaner than a toilet seat when it comes to germs. Usually there are about 200 times more faecal bacteria on the average cutting board than on a toilet seat,” he told the BBC.
Mobile phones remain one of the digital devices closely attached to humans. In Ghana for instance, the device is used not only for communication purposes but also business transactions through mobile money subscriptions.
The best way to keep your phone clean and safe could by wiping the screen of phones with a tissue and hand sanitizer at specific intervals.
