Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho is a hero to a woman gang raped at Kibarani Mombasa while walking home from a funeral.
Speaking during the International Women's Day, Joho said that he had directed his government to settle Irene Asha's hospital bill, help her start a business and relocate her from Mworoto slums to a better house in Kisauni.
Asha, receiving treatment at the Aga Khan Hospital, was raped by two men this year on February 3 who then had her legs crushed after tying her to a railway.
Joho referred to Asha as "one of the bravest, strongest and most amazing women".
According to Asha, she is lucky to be alive since her screams were heard by the locomotive operator although her legs have been amputated.
Her hospital bill stands at GHC90k.
