The former member of parliament for Obuasi East, Edward Ennin has revealed that the president has assured him of a position in any of the sectors in the energy ministry.
According to him, there have been closed meetings with the president where he was asked which sector he would like to work in, and he expressed his interest in the energy sector.
Mr Ennin was speaking on Abusua FM when he said, "during my discussions with the president, he asked which office I wanted and I mentioned the energy sector. The president thought I will chose the mining area but I said no because a big mining company will soon appoint me as board director and I don’t want to find myself in conflict of interest.”
He further stated, “possibly, I would have been appointed to the Minerals Commissions and this would have compromised my position and so I decided on the energy sector instead…maybe electricity or something."
Meanwhile, the president is expected to name the last batch of Metropolitan Municipal District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) by the close of today, March 14.
Last week, the president named Iddrisu Musah Superior and three others for appointment as Metropolitan Chief Executives in the first batch of the MMDCEs for the 216 districts in the country, subject to the approval of their respective assemblies.
