Kumawood actress, Tracey Boakye, has revealed that he was involved in a romantic relationship with a movie producer before becoming famous.
Her remark follows reports in a section of the media to the effect that some movie producers take sexual advantage of women before giving them roles in movies.
In an interview with Dave Hammer on his youtube channel, Dave Hammer TV, Tracey confessed that her relationship with a movie producer helped advance her career as an actress.
However, she pointed out that she voluntarily got involved with the movie producer because she loved him.
“I have dated a movie director before. And I’ll always admit that having dated one benefited me a lot. However, mine wasn’t like the usual “let-me-****-you-before-I-give-you-a-role-to-play kind of thing. It was dating just like the usual boy-girlfriend relationship.
“It was a mutual understanding between the two of us. We both loved each other, and the two of us benefited from the affair," she said.
Tracey, who campaigned massively for former president John Mahama ahead of the 2016 presidential election, added that she does not depend on men for her survival.
“I don’t depend on men. No! I have never depended on men ever since I started dating as a teenager," she said.
She has starred in movies such as Selina, Odo; Oh Vera and Ama Saman.
