The senior minister in the President Akufo-Addo administration says the last-minute contracts signed by the Mahama-led administration is negatively affecting the current government.
Speaking at an Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA) forum in Accra on Tuesday, Yaw Osafo Marfo opined that government is seriously bedevilled with lots of setbacks following the inappropriate nature of the contracts signed by the John Mahama administration.
According to him, these questionable contracts are being reviewed by the attorney general to ensure accountability.
Mr Osafo Marfo added that the development might lead to some judgement debts but the NPP government is ready to give Ghanaians the best deal.
“One of the problems we are facing today as a new government is that [there are] many contracts which were signed within the last 14 days” and they are worrying.
But the senior minister suggested that moving forward laws have to be put in place to prevent outgoing governments from signing and committing the incoming government to certain deals and arrangements.
