A six-year-old girl in Chicago, US has made a touching and thoughtful gesture by forgoing her birthday presents and opting to feed homeless people instead.
Armani Crews first told her parents about her wish several months before her birthday, but they understandably did not immediately realize how serious she was.
Speaking to a media outlet, Armani's mother Artesha and father Antoine said they eventually took her seriously after she repeated the same request for several months.
When Armani's birthday came around, the family spent the $300 they had set aside for her gifts to buy food such as mashed potatoes, spaghetti, corn, water and fruits.
They then took the food to a local park in Chicago where they provided it to over 120 homeless people. Having realized her wish, Armani said it was "nice to be nice."
Armani and her family were joined by their local church, whose members added toothbrushes, toothpastes, hand sanitizers and deodorants.
