Managing Editor of the Insight Newspaper, Mr. Kwesi Pratt, has hinted that there could've some sort of internal pressure mounted on President Akufo-Addo from New Patriotic Party (NPP) bigwigs.
According to Mr. Pratt, President Akufo-Addo has appointed 110 ministers mostly because NPP supporters who helped him during his long road to the Presidency have been clamoring at his door looking for appointments.
“The truth must be told. This is all as a result of pressure largely from party members and loyalists. People are of the opinion that once you campaign for a party to win, you should be given post. Some people as old as eighty years even lobby for post when their parties win elections."

On Wednesday, March 15th, Information Minister Mustapha Hamid addressed the press and defended President Akufo-Addo's decision to create the argest government in the history of Ghana's Fourth Republic.
“Nowhere did we ever promise a lean government because in our view it is not the leanness or bigness of a government that determines its output or its ultimate performance,” said the Information Minister on Wednesday's press conference.
