A Ghanaian footballer in South Africa who was capped a man-of-the-match after a game embarrassed himself in a live interview as he accidentally thanked his wife AND his girlfriend.
Mohammed Anas was in the process of thanking his support systems after he helped secure an away point for his team, Free State Stars against Ajax Cape Town, but the star of the show may have explaining to do when he gets home.
In the brief interview after the match, Anas got carried away with his acceptance speech, as he listed off both his wife and his girlfriend in a cringe-worthy moment that perhaps should be put down to nerves.
“Firstly I appreciate my fans,” he began. “(And) my wife and my girlfriend.”
Anas stumbled for a second before realising his blunder, quickly clarifying he intended to thank his wife.
“I’m so sorry, my wife!” he exclaimed. “I love you so much from my heart.”
"Thanks for supporting me there is more to come," he stuttered before the interview came to an end.
