A video which purports to show a prophet accurately predicting the Kintampo Waterfalls disaster that rocked the nation on Sunday and led to loss of about 20 lives is circulating on social media.
Students from the Wenchi Senior High School and other tourists were swimming in the water when trees came crashing on them. Strong winds are said to have uprooted the trees from the ground.
Some of the students were killed instantly while others were trapped in the water, prompting rescuers to use chainsaws to cut through the trees in an effort to reach those trapped.
In the video, which is circulating online, and which some social media users say details an accurate prediction of the disaster, one Prophet Reindolph Oduro Gyebi could be heard saying on Kumasi-based Abusua FM that a certain school was planning to embark on an excursion to Kintampo.
He said the trip would result in a disaster that would kill all the students and so called for the trip to be cancelled.
"I see that a school is about to go to Kintampo... they are going on an excursion. They will all die. A member of the school is listening to me... they should cancel the trip. They should cancel the trip now. If they dispute what I'm saying, they will kill people's children. God doesn't want them to go... they should return all the money they have collected and reschedule the trip for some other time.
"Cancel the trip. Cancel the trip....you are going to Kintampo...cancel it," he said
Prophet Gyebi added that if the school decided to proceed on the excursion, they should change their route and avoid the Kintampo road.
Those who shared the video on social media claimed that the prophet made the prediction a week ago. YEN could not immediately verify this claim.

Some Ghanaians have lamented what they say is a failure to heed Prophet Gyebi's warning - a development one Facebook user blamed on a proliferation of prophecies, which he said made it difficult to distinguish true prophecies from fake ones.
