Former president John Dramani Mahama has also commiserated with the families of the about 19 people who died following the Kintampo waterfalls tragedy.
Mahama tweeted: “Very sad news of tragic deaths at the Kintampo waterfalls. Sincerest condolences to families of the victims.”
He also posted on his Facebook page that he was with the families of the victims in prayers and wished the survivors speedy recovery.
“I am keeping the families of the Kintampo falls victims in mind and praying for them. Please comfort their families and pray for them. Let’s also ask the almighty God to heal the injured and receive the souls of the departed into his kingdom.”
At least 19 persons have been confirmed dead after a huge tree run off the top of the waterfall and descended unto the dozens of revellers swimming beneath the fall.
