The Madeira airport in Portugal will be renamed after Cristiano Ronaldo in a tribute to the Real Madrid superstar, the place where he grew up.
The four-time Ballon d’Or winner led his teammates to the town on Monday, March 27, as they continue to celebrate their stunning Euro 2016 success.
CR7 reached another milestone in his home town on Tuesday, March 28, with his strike as Portugal defeated Sweden 3 – 2 in Madeira as he moved into the top 10 international goalscorers of all-time.
YEN.com.gh gathered that the country wants to honour him by renaming the airport in his hometown after him as he is expected to attend the ceremony.
A Ronaldo statue, a museum and a hotel complex are already dedicated to him in Fuschal, just outside his hometown.
